Week 41
The Botanic Garden is very diverse – at the moment, some selected roses are still flowering, while in other parts of the Garden, flowering is clearly on the decline. But then you can enjoy the incredible play of colour in the foliage of trees and shrubs in autumn, now that the green colouring chlorophyll has been drawn into the plants.
Birds are still flocking to the feeders at the Gardener’s Cottage – dragonflies are still active by the lakes, and last week’s rain has meant that mushrooms are piling up. Lots of reed canary grass and sulphur canary grass, almost evolving from day to day.
