Then May 1st dawned with sunshine and temperatures nearing 20 degrees—lovely. The forest is turning green, and many species of rhododendron in particular are now in bloom—but there is so much else to see while listening to the song thrush, the green woodpecker, the titmice, the blackbirds, and the chaffinches.

It’s dry, and many areas of the Garden are being watered—maybe rain is on the way….
