Really good news has just been announced to Bangsbo Botanical Garden, which has received a fantastic Christmas gift from the Spar Nord Foundation in the form of a cash donation of DKK 200,000 - as a contribution to the completion of the large project "Denmark's Wild Plants".
The garden's chairman of the board, Preben Reinholt, says:
A large donation from the AP Møller Foundation in the spring of 2020 became the trigger for the initiation of the construction and planting work in connection with the project, although at that time the financing of the project was still partly secured.
An application for support for the project was therefore sent to the Spar Nord Foundation, and the processing of the application has now resulted in this very welcome Christmas present, which has brought the necessary financing for the project very close to the goal. There is still room for contributions, but the Garden's executive committee and board are confident of reaching their goal. We are very grateful for the Spar Nord Foundation's important contribution to the completion of the project.
Director Morten Kock from Spar Nord in Frederikshavn adds: Over the years, Bangsbo Botanical Garden has developed into something that we can be really proud of in Frederikshavn. Regardless of the season, it is always a pleasure to take a walk in the Garden. ”Denmarks Vilde Planter” is a large and beautiful project, and I am very pleased that the Spar Nord Foundation has granted this donation.
The project is already well advanced, which you are very welcome to see for yourself by taking a walk in the area, and 2021 will bring continued development and planting of the area, for the benefit and joy of the Garden's many guests.
