Bangsbo Flower Festival
How the Flower Festival 2026 went
The 29th edition of the Bangsbo Flower Festival was held in really good weather, even though the weather gods had predicted rain on Sunday, but fortunately it didn't happen.
Due to the perfect festival weather on Saturday, there was pressure at the entrances right from the start on Saturday at 10 a.m., when Mayor Jon Andersen gave his first opening speech for a Flower Festival, and where he pointed out that the setting for the festival is fantastic, and that in the Botanical Garden you can find great inspiration for your own garden projects. He was also very aware that a Botanical Garden and a Flower Festival do not come by themselves – they are the result of the efforts of many people and a big thank you goes out to them.
And then there was a real festival with all that comes with good and special shopping; meeting old friends and acquaintances, and above all enjoying the absolutely phenomenal cozy atmosphere that is created when the weather is good, some beautiful plants to buy at favorable prices, food and drink in abundance and then good and cozy music. The main paths were very densely populated, but the visitors took the crowd with good humor and patience.
Sunday is almost always a quieter day, especially when there is a forecast of a little rain, but fortunately not much wind. But the rain did not hit the festival, and it was as if it had been anticipated by the many visitors who flocked to the Botanical Garden, and when the sun also started to shine, the right festival atmosphere was again present with a great desire to buy. All stallholders could also report a really good sale, and that there had been a great desire to ask questions to the individual stallholders – yes, one simply had to go to bed very early on Saturday, he was so tired……
How many people visit the Bangsbo Flower Festival is quite interesting to know, especially for the festival's steering committee, and the first figures indicate that the number of visitors is very close to the number from 2025, namely approximately 4,000, and the steering committee is very satisfied with this.
And then there's the anniversary festival next year - the planning will start soon...
