Experiences It's happening right now – Week 46

There has been a lot of work finding plants in the Garden's other facilities to form underplanting in the new beds. At the same time, a whole container full of plants has arrived from Majlands Plant School for planting in the western beds of area 7. Some of the members of the Circle of Friends have helped with the planting of these, while others have weeded the Garden's other beds.

Jørgen from Bangsminde has dug up some fairly large tree stumps in the border area between area 7 and Kælkebakken, and he has also peeled off the turf in what will become the future beds. This soil is used to level the terrain difference between area 7 and Kælkebakken.

Now a new situation has arisen, as the lockdown of North Jutland has meant that Karel will not be at work for the next month – he lives in Aalborg. Flemming will also not be at the Garden during the same period, while Ellen will be working from home some of the time, preparing planting plans, plant lists and other planning. But there may be enough to meet some of the volunteers at the Garden at certain times – there are still various small things that can be done without a face mask.
